It is imperative that every business has a website these days. Whether you are well established or a new company a website is as necessary as a business card.

Where is the first place you look when you require goods or services? Most people go straight to Google. They look for suppliers of the goods or services, the quality offered, the cost, whether they are available where they live and whether other customers like those goods and services.

For example if you were looking for someone to build you a website you may enter “web design in Northwich” into Google, this would give you an extensive list of web designers in the area – some good, some not so good, how would you know? You would then browse as many of the sites as your boredom threshold would allow; perhaps two or three pages.

So what are you looking for? How would you know which to choose? Do you want a local web designer that specialises in web design in Northwich, a designer with a good reputation and a proven quality portfolio, or maybe someone that can provide a website at a price within your budget? The web designer’s website must provide all of this information as a minimum and attract you to read it.

The same applies to your business. To attract customers to your company you must first of all have a website, it is your shop window to the world. It should clearly describe what you do, the products and services you can provide, their prices maybe, where you operate from and how to contact you. The site should include testimonials that confirm customer satisfaction and it should include photographs of your products or completed work. But most of all it must be visible to your potential customers. It is imperative therefore that your site is optimised to ensure your company appears at, or very near, the top of Google’s listing.
